Heritage Night

The ‘Spanish World Heritage Cities’ group turns 25 years old.
To celebrate its anniversary, on Saturday the 15th of September, starting at 8pm until 1am, cultural, social and festive activities will take place concurrently in the 15 Spanish World Heritage Cities.

“Heritage Night” is comprised of four sections: Heritage SCENE, Heritage OPEN, LIVE Heritage and BOAMISTURA Lyrical Labyrinths.

Full Schedule of Activities:

SCENE Heritage:
The city of Ibiza hosts the Cul de Sac show (Suite Juan Muñoz) from the Kor’Sia company. A piece inspired by sculptor Juan Muñoz, winner of the National Prize for Plastic Arts and the author of the iconic piece “Double Bind”. These shows are fully funded by the Group of World Heritage Cities.
Time and place: Bulwark of Santa Lucía, 10pm

OPEN Heritage:
Open from 8pm until 1am in heritage and cultural spaces open beyond their normal hours. The places you can visit in the city of Ibiza on “Heritage Night” are: the Eivissa Museum of Contemporary Art (MACE), the Puget Museum, Madina Yabisa, the Bulwark of Sant Pere, the Eivissa Historical Archive (AHE), in the Can Botino building (exhibition with the Book of sa Cadena, the document establishing the city, royal letters and other documents), the Refectory Hall of the Former City Council, the Cloister of the Former City Council, the Bulwark of Santa Tecla, the Cathedral and the Church of Santo Domingo.

LIVE Heritage:
The 15 Heritage Cities will run entertainment, leisure and cultural activities in a number of the city’s public areas.

Ibiza:
8pm in Paseo de Vara del Rey: performance by Diego Román.
8:30pm in the Square of the Cathedral: performance “From square to square to the beat of swing”
9pm in the Museum of Contemporary Art: see the exhibition by Edmund de Waal, guided by Elena Ruiz, the director the museum. A different kind of experience, without artificial lighting.

9:30pm at the Mirador (look out point) of the City Council: a repeat performance of “From square to square to the beat of swing”
10:15pm in the Square of Vila; repeat performance of “From square to square to the beat of swing”

BOAMISTURA Lyrical Labyrinths:
It will be the end of the urban intervention project by the Boamistura collective that was undertaken in 2017 in the 15 World Heritage Cities.
The 15 cities will screen the film “Lyrical Labyrinths” covering the process for the intervention carried out. In particular, in the city of Ibiza, the Boamistura intervention was shown at the Bulwark of Sant Pere, and the poem chosen was “Flueix vers mi de nou presència” by Marià Villangómez.

At 9:25pm, in the Cloister of City Council the presentation “Heritage Night” will be given with a short video clip from Boamistura, which will be able to be seen during the night.
